Midrand Hybrid Solar & Borehole System

RAH Contractors was commissioned to design and install a hybrid solar system for a smallholding in Midrand, with the unique requirement of keeping the property’s borehole pump running independently of the grid. The solution included 24 x 400W panels, a 15kW hybrid inverter, and a 20kWh battery storage system.
The borehole pump was rewired and integrated into the solar circuit with an automated controller that prioritises battery charging before allowing pump operation, protecting battery life while still guaranteeing a reliable water supply. The project required close coordination between our solar and electrical teams to ensure a safe, fully compliant installation.
