A quote request is not an order

When you build a list of materials on this website and send it to us, you are asking us for a price. You are not placing an order, you are not committing to buy anything, and nothing is charged. No payment is taken on this website at any point.

We reply with a written quotation. A contract exists only when you accept that quotation.

What happens after you send a request

1. Your request is recorded and you get an email confirming it, with a reference number in the form `RAH-QR-YYYYMMDD-XXXX`.
2. We check the materials, the quantities and the delivery address.
3. We ask a transport company to price the delivery.
4. We send you a written quotation covering both.

We aim to do this within [two working days]. If your load needs a freight quote from a third party, or if you need it delivered somewhere unusual, it can take longer — and we will tell you rather than leave you waiting.

Prices on this website are indicative

Every price shown on this site is indicative. It is what we expect to charge for that item, and it is there to help you plan. It is not an offer, and it is not the price on your quotation.

Three things are true of every price shown here:

• It excludes delivery. Always. Delivery is priced per load, and we cannot know what a load costs to move until we know where it is going.
• It excludes VAT unless the page says otherwise. [RAH Contractors is not currently a VAT vendor. When that changes, prices on this site will show VAT and this paragraph must be updated.]
• It can change. Building materials move with the market. A price shown here may be out of date by the time you read it; the quotation is what counts.

Where a product shows "Price on request" instead of a figure, it means we price that item per job. It still goes on your list and is still quoted.

How we price delivery

We do not run our own delivery fleet for materials, and we do not use a rate table. Every delivery is quoted by a third-party transport company, per load.

What it costs depends on the weight and volume of the load, the distance, whether the address can take a truck of that size, and whether anyone is there to offload. That is why the form asks about access to the site: an accurate answer there is what makes an accurate delivery price possible.

How long a quotation holds

A written quotation from us is valid for [14 days] from the date on it, unless the quotation itself says otherwise.

After that we will requote. This is not a sales tactic — it is that material prices and freight rates both move, and a quotation we cannot honour is worth less to you than an honest requote.

What can change a quotation

A quotation is priced on what you described. It may change if what arrives on the day is different:

• the load changes — quantities, items, or a substitution because something is out of stock;
• the delivery address changes, or turns out to be somewhere the agreed vehicle cannot reach;
• the site cannot take the delivery on the agreed day, or nobody is there to receive it;
• a supplier's price moves between the quotation and the order, on an item we do not hold in stock;
• the delivery date moves far enough that the freight rate has to be requoted.

If any of these happens, we tell you the new price before we act on it. We do not deliver first and invoice a different number afterwards.

Stock

Showing an item on this website is not a promise that it is on the yard today. Where we know an item is out of stock, the page says so, and you can still add it to a list — we will quote it and tell you what the lead time is.

Collection

Payment

Payment terms are set out on the quotation. Nothing is paid through this website. We will never send you a payment link by SMS or WhatsApp out of the blue, and we will never change our banking details by email. If you receive anything of that kind claiming to be from us, phone us on the number in the header of this site before you act on it.

Your rights as a consumer

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, or under any other law that applies to you and cannot be contracted out of.
