About these terms

These terms apply to all quotes, building and installation work, and sales of building materials by RAH Contractors (Pty) Ltd. Where a signed quote, order or building contract contains different terms, the signed document takes precedence. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008, where it applies.

Quotes

• All quotes are provided in writing and are valid for [30] days unless stated otherwise.
• Quotes are based on the information, plans and site conditions known at the time. Unforeseen conditions (such as ground conditions, hidden defects or changes to approved plans) may affect price and timelines, and we will discuss and agree any changes with you before proceeding.
• Prices shown on our website are indicative only and are confirmed on your written quote.
• [VAT: confirm wording — e.g. "RAH Contractors is not currently registered for VAT" or "All prices include VAT at 15%".]

Building, electrical and installation work

• Work begins once you have accepted the quote in writing and any agreed deposit has been paid.
• The scope of work is as described in the accepted quote. Additional work or changes you request are quoted separately as variations and only carried out once approved.
• You agree to provide safe, reasonable access to the site, and access to water and electricity where needed.
• Unless agreed otherwise, landlord, body corporate or estate approvals are your responsibility. Where included in the quote, we will coordinate municipal plan submissions on your behalf.
• Electrical and solar installations are tested and a Certificate of Compliance is issued on completion.
• Timelines are estimates and may be affected by weather, load-shedding, material availability, approvals or changes to scope.

Payment

• Payment terms, including deposits and progress payments, are set out in your quote and agreed before work begins.
• No payments are taken through this website. We will only ever ask you to pay into the bank account shown on our official quote or invoice. If you receive a request to pay into a different account, please phone us to verify it before making payment.
• Materials remain the property of RAH Contractors until paid for in full.

Building materials

• Material orders are confirmed on a written quote, and stock is subject to availability.
• Prices exclude delivery unless stated otherwise. Collection is available from 11 Kirkby Road, Bedfordview, during trading hours.
• Please check your order on collection or delivery. Shortages or visible damage must be reported at the time, or within [24 hours] of delivery.
• Risk in the goods passes to you on collection or delivery.
• Items cut, mixed or made to order (such as roof sheeting cut to length) cannot be returned unless they are defective.
• Unused, undamaged stock in its original condition may be returned within [7] days with proof of purchase, at our discretion. [A handling fee may apply.]
• Defective goods are dealt with in line with the Consumer Protection Act.

Workmanship

We stand behind our work. If a defect arises that is due to our workmanship, please notify us in writing and we will come back to put it right. The guarantee period, and any manufacturer warranties on equipment such as inverters, batteries and panels, are set out in your quote or handover documents. Our guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, lack of maintenance, alterations by others, or events outside our control.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, RAH Contractors is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability in connection with any job or order is limited to the value of that job or order.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. If you have a concern, please contact us at admin@rahcontractors.co.za and we will do our best to resolve it with you directly.
